How To Use Canva For Library & Classroom Branding

Have you headed back to school yet? Whether you are already back in school or getting ready to start the new year this post is for you!

The impression you make at the beginning of the school year and throughout the entire year is very important. There can be a lot to juggle, but I have some ideas to help you with this beautiful juggling act. :)

Did you know that effectively branding and sharing your library or classroom can help you stay motivation, connection, and inspired throughout the year?

Let me start by telling you that when I say 'branding' your library or classroom I don't mean covering it in corporate logos. What I mean is creating a vision for what your space stands for and creating graphics and wording to clearly demonstrate it.

Now that we're on the same page, let's get started!!

We are so blessed to have social media and when used correctly, I believe, it can help us grow, share, and connect with amazing people.

The first steps you should take when creating your library or classroom brand is to write a slogan and create a logo. Canva is the perfect place to put these two elements into a well designed, beautiful graphic that you can share with your online communities.

When first crafting my business and blog I had come up with my names and slogans, but didn't have a graphic for them. I hopped on Canva and used the logo template to gain inspiration and create my very own logo. This helped to bring my vision to life.

I now use my logo on EVERYTHING that I can, including my social media posts. Canva also includes a feature where you can download your logo with a transparent background! This is super nice when including your logo on photos and graphics.

After creating your library or classroom brand I recommend getting on social media, if you aren't already, and start building a network and sharing what's going on in your space! This way you can inspire others and be inspired.

Canva offers TONS of social graphic templates. Start creating and sharing today!

If you are just getting started on social media I would start with Twitter. If you need help check out my Complete Guide To Twitter. It will help you get started on Twitter in just 45 minutes.

Once you have your logo and slogan it is important to advertise these values throughout your space. In Canva, you can create posters, flyers, infographics, and so much more.

If you have a social media network I would recommend creating promotional signage to share your handle. This way students, parents, and other educators can follow along with your journey.

You could even ask students to create posters to help share what their library or class are all about. You could create a set of guidelines together, share motivational quotes, or share upcoming happenings. The possibilities are endless!

I love how you can test your students' learning with learning activities from Canva. You can choose from many different templates and create your own learning activities that include your library or classroom logo.

Creating your own learning activities means you can customize them to match your brand and wording. Plus, students will enjoy seeing their logo and may feel more ownership towards the activity.

There you have it! Now you can start using Canva in your library or classroom branding. How do you use or plan to use Canva in your branding?
