I am so excited to announce that our next book for Books Without Borders is There There by Tommy Orange. Thank you all so much for voting and sharing what you wanted to read. This is a new book that came out last month, but the second I heard about it I was interested.
There There is a relentlessly paced multigenerational story about violence and recovery, memory and identity, and the beauty and despair woven into the history of a nation and its people. It tells the story of twelve characters, each of whom have private reasons for traveling to the Big Oakland Powwow. An unforgettable debut, destined to become required reading in schools and universities across the country.
For those of you who are new, Books Without Borders is a very relaxed, fun book club. Feel free to read a book than skip a book then come back and read another book with the club. Whatever you want to do!
We will starting There There today July 16th and we will end on August 10th. Over the course of these four weeks I will be posting questions and asking you what you think of the book. After we finish the book I will share a series of questions on Twitter where you can share your final thoughts on There There.
Also, please feel free to share with us as your reading too using #BooksWithoutBorders. I would LOVE to see what you guys are thinking of the book as we go!
Let's get reading,
